How to Set Up Your Appointment

Pointe-shoe fittings are scheduled by appointment only.  We cannot guarantee availability for walk-in fittings due to high demand and the schedules of our fitters.  

We have multiple talented staff members that have been trained extensively in order to fit your dancer. Appointments start at 10:00 AM until 5:30 PM on weekdays and 11:00 AM until 2:30 PM on Saturdays. If this is your first time en pointe, please allow up to one hour for your appointment. For repeat fittings, we offer 30-minute appointment slots. To make an appointment with us, or if you have any questions, please call our store at (865)-357-2675. 

Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to allow proper set-up time. If you are more than 10 minutes late to your appointment, your appointment will be canceled as a courtesy to our other customers.  Please call the store if you are going to be late so we can reschedule. Thank you!

 Are Appointments Required?

• Yes, appointments are required so that we can give each dancer our full attention and make the fitting experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. Please call the store at (865) 357-2675 to schedule a fitting with one of our expert fitters.

What Should I Bring?

• For your first pointe shoe fitting, all you need to bring is your teacher recommendation letter.   
• For any repeat fittings, it is recommended that you bring your previous pair of shoes, toepads, and anything else you use in your shoes in order to make the fitting process easier. 

How Long Will It Take?

• Typically, a first time fitting can take up to one hour. For repeat fittings, it usually takes up to 30 minutes. These are the average times that our fittings take; however, depending on the dancer these times may vary. Please allow enough time out of your day for our staff to provide your dancer with the best possible fit.

What Brands Do You Carry?

• We carry numerous styles from Bloch, Nikolay (formerly Grishko), Russian Pointe, and Capezio.  Come on in and let our trained fitters find your best style! 

Does My Teacher Need To Be With Me?

• Your teacher is not required to be present in order to be fit for pointe shoes. However, if you would like your teacher to be present, they are more than welcome to accompany you for your appointment. 

Is It Going To Hurt?

• Pointe shoes are not as comfortable as flat shoes, but we provide many products that can help make the transition to pointe shoes easier for your dancer. We have a variety of toepads available as well as lambswool, toe tape, spacers, etc. Please ask our staff how we can make your pointe shoe experience as comfortable as possible. 

How Much Will It Cost?

• The first pair of pointe shoes is always the most expensive because it requires you to purchase items that can be used for the next pair(s). Our pointe shoes range in price from $98- $123 depending on the brand and style that best fits your dancer's foot.  For the first pair, we recommend that you purchase: a stitch kit, a mesh bag, toepads, ribbon, and elastic along with your shoes. The average total price for a first pair of shoes along with accessories is $170, and subsequent pairs total around $140. 

What if my teacher doesn't like my shoes?

• We always recommend getting your teacher's approval on a new pair of shoes before you wear them, even if you've been en pointe for a while.  If your teacher doesn't like them and there is nothing sewn on the shoes, you can bring them back to us for a refitting and we will exchange them.  Tutu's will not take back shoes that have already been worn or have ribbons/elastic sewn on them.

Along with offering an expert fitting, we also offer sewing for any dancer who wants to make their pointe shoe experience a little easier. Bring your shoes, ribbon, and elastic to the store and we will have your shoes sewn and ready to wear within 1-2 business days! All pointe shoe sewing services are $20. 

Please be sure that your pointe shoes have been approved by your teacher BEFORE bringing them in to be sewn.
